CJ Hurely

CJ Hurley Century Arts is a small studio operated by husband and wife team, CJ Hurley and Barbara Pierce. I met them through my membership with the Northwest Society of Interior Designers. I cannot speak highly enough about CJ's work, attention to detail and eye for color. As you can see in the photos above of CJ's work he can caption an era like no other!

In their words:

"We are dedicated to the beauty, the quality, and the traditions of the international Arts & Crafts Movement and we work closely with our clients to develop heirloom quality projects that are deeply meaningful and rich with historic integrity.

We specialize in custom designed, hand-painted interiors, design and color consultation for historic homes, and fine art. The driving force behind our work is exemplified in the basic Arts and Crafts tenet of “the hand crafted.” We are traditional in many ways and insist that every artistic endeavor be executed by the hand. Our work is unique and personal, favoring painstakingly elaborate hand-painting over stenciling. Regardless of the period, be it traditional or modern, the handcraft credo informs our work.

While we have a great love and appreciation for many movements in art and architectural history, our primary expertise is in the international Reform Movements. Spanning a one hundred year period (1850-1950) the Reform Movements include Gothic Revival, Aesthetic/ Queen Anne, Arts and Crafts, Art Nouveau, Jugendstil, and Art Deco."
