It's takes a village, contractor, interior designer and homeowner to turn Dowdy into Delightful!

This very traditional, dated condo in the Fountain Plaza looked tired and dark…just the opposite of what the new home owners wanted. They didn't know exactly what they wanted but this was not it. So the "team" of interior designer  Kimberlee Jaynes and contractor Pino Pecoraro and cabinet maker extordinair Dennis Scheweppe assembled and started the transformation.

We eliminated the column on the left and moved the laundry room door over to the right. This gave me an opportunity to showcase artwork. I created a  tile "rug" with black, amber and iridescent tiles in varying sizes.  The sunburst light fixture, floating scalloped shelf and round mirror all add to the dramatic makeover.

Replacing the wood floors and installing 12x24 white and gray tiles added lots of light to an otherwise dark corridor. I also moved the carpet line, which creates a large grand entry to the living room/piano room and kitchen.

The living and dining rooms were separated by columns, we removed those, uniting the two spaces. The modern crystal chandelier inset in the ceiling just above the piano creates drama. The built in bookcases and cabinets add much needed storage. And the raised piano is perfect for performing. I nestled two swivel chairs over by the window to take in the fabulous view!

My clients are not afraid of color, so I gave it to them at every turn…the lipstick red leather sofa and yellow accent walls play perfectly against the grays of the carpet and the taupe/brown Color Stories "old soul" paint color from Benjamin Moore.

Before the kitchen was dark and dreary. Glass tiles, stainless front cabinets with frosted glass panels and creamy white Cesar Stone counter tops all add to the reflective and glamorous new kitchen.

The lower island is perfect for prep and unloading groceries while higher island is just right for the home owners to eat breakfast and look at their iPads. The higher island is also great for serving buffet style meals.

The dining room is now next to the kitchen, very convenient for large parties. This table can accommodate 12 when all leaves are extended. (The leaves are stored in the middle of the table.)

Wrapping the entire left side of the kitchen in Sapele wood adds to the overall warmth and beauty of this kitchen. We had to move the electrical panel in order to do this but it was well worth it!

Most condo bathrooms do not have a window…so we opted to use  Benjamin Moore Wasabi AF 430 in the guest bath to let the sunshine in!

Floating cabinets help to modernize and minimize visual clutter. Notice all of the doors have been replaced with sapale wood framed doors…and in this dark guest bath we chose to frost the glass to let some light in.

Blah and bland to bright and beautiful.

Again a floating credenza helps to make this room feel larger than it really is.

The bedroom had mirrors from floor to ceiling…we removed those and added these floor to ceiling built ins.The handles are crystal and in the niches are dimmable sconces. The upholstered head board adds to the softness and grandeur of this room.

Dennis Schwepes' fine craftsmanship building these cabinets and all of the cabinets was invaluable!

The master bath is light and bright with under cabinet lighting and a crystal sconce. I used the same  bright white tile from the kitchen and hallway in this master bath, which adds unity to the unit.  The Cesar Stone counter top in 1550 ocean palace looks like precious stones.

These boring doors had no place in the newly revitalized condo…so Dennis added high gloss Formica to them and now they shine! It was a pure delight to work with the home owners and team on this condo!
